Overview

The Child Watch Site Leader will plan and lead the Child Watch program at Prisma Health Family YMCA.  This position will work directly with the parents and children participants and provide hands-on guidance to Child Watch Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to Child Watch staff team regarding daily activities ensuring children have multiple choices of activities and are provided with activities focused on movement, arts, imaginary play, reading, etc.
  • Provides guidance to staff in proper response to parent questions or concerns.
  • Provides exemplary customer service.
  • Ensures participant safety – including check-in/check-out procedures, sick children, discipline issues, and activities.
  • Assist Member Experience Director with creating Child Watch staff schedule.
  • Responsible for Child Watch attendance tracking by recording and scanning rosters daily.
  • Support Child Watch staff when shifts need to be covered.
  • Assist Member Experience Director with obtaining needed supplies/materials.
  • Provide input to Member Experience Director regarding performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Report any performance and attendance issues to Member Experience Director.
  • Maintains positive relations at all times with members, participants, and co-workers.
  • Assist with staff trainings and meetings.
  • Assists in all areas of the Y operation as requested by management.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience working with youth.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 6 months of leadership experience.
  • Able to react quickly and properly in emergency situations.
  • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must complete New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, and Blood Bourne Pathogen training within first 30-days of employment.
