Camp Greenville is an overnight camp established in 1912 that hosts boys and girls from throughout the region and the world for summer camps, retreats and specialty camps. You will get to experience what the great outdoors of Western North Carolina and South Carolina have to offer.

 

YMCA Camp Greenville is seeking a cause-driven leader to fulfill the role of Camp Wellness Coordinator for the summer. The Wellness Coordinator provides intentional, helpful, and caring programming that supports positive development of staff and campers. They will help the camp community provide a more effective and supportive experience to campers.

Responsibilities

  • Support staff/LDPs in providing more effective and supportive experience to campers
    Implement mental wellness programming during staff training and smaller events during camp weeks
  • Assist with person focused staff check-ins during/ after each session as a method of caring for staff members and making them feel seen and heard
  • Provide support for and for campers to help reduce stress, enhance self-efficacy, and be an additional resource for a camper one on one needs
  • Teach and lead behavior support and tactics to staff rooted in positive child development psychology and encouraging play
  • Be available to discuss camper info forms and give support and resources
  • Host programs during cabin rotations that touch on mental wellness but are positioned to meet the goal of camper support (Hikes, playing, challenges, learning new skills, crafts that reduce stress, teach life skills etc.)
  • Collaborating for efficient processes and clear communication among all.
  • Ability to work with participants of all backgrounds.
  • Serve as a role model, upholding our camp values, and working with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind always.
  • Responsible for the health and well-being of the campers mentally, emotionally, and physically, during their time at camp
  • Must approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.

Other Repsonsibilites

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Must be 20 years old by June 2025.
  • Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be CPR/First aid certified or able to obtain by June 2025.

Preferred:

  • Student in psychology, health care, therapy related field.
