The Child Watch Associate II is responsible for planning, leading and supervising the Child Watch program. This position will work directly with the children and parents, providing a hands-on example to the staff team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct leadership to Child Watch staff team. 
  • Schedules staff team according to suggested ratios and attendance patterns.
  • Assists in hiring, training, performance reviews, coaching and terminations of part-time staff members.
  • Provides leadership of daily activities ensuring children have multiple choices of activities and that they are provided with activity focused on movement, arts, imaginary play, reading, etc. 
  • Provides guidance to staff in proper response to parent questions / concerns.
  • Provides exemplary customer service.
  • Ensures participant safety – including check-in / check-out procedures, sick children, discipline issues, and activities.
  • Maintains positive relations at all times with members, participants, and co-workers.
  • Assists in all areas of the Y operation as requested by management.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with children and customer service.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a leadership role.
